It’s the season of new year resolutions. For some it could be “exercise more”, “eat healthier” or “be more organised”. All have good intentions; nonetheless, few will make it past February. So why not change your mind and try something you can do at any time or day of the year that can improve your life?

A positive mind can make a massive difference in your day and may even improve your physical and psychological health. Here are a few easy tips to make each day the best day and each year a better year.

1. What are you thankful for today?
There are many blessings hidden in the everyday. This could be food on the table, fresh air or a kind gesture. Take a moment to find treasures to be thankful for today.

2. A positive perspective
Thomas Edison said it well. “I haven’t failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. Is there a more positive way to look at the situation?

3. Look at the bigger picture
When we are focusing on a bad situation, we often make it bigger than it really is. Take a step back to put it in perspective. You may find it’s not as bad as you initially thought.
