🎉Celebrating 90 Years of Yakult – Discover Our Limited-Edition Packaging 🎉
In 2025, we’re proud to celebrate Yakult’s 90th Anniversary.
In 1935, production and sales of Yakult began in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. Loved for over 90 years, its impact continues to be shaped by the two things that led to its creation, the unique Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Shirota (LcS) strain and the vision of our founder, Dr. Minoru Shirota. His commitment to preventive health continues to live on in every bottle we produce. Yakult was introduced to Australia in 1994, and in 2024 we celebrated our 30th Anniversary in Australia and our 20th Anniversary in New Zealand.
Today, Yakult is enjoyed in 40 countries and regions, with about 38 million bottles consumed daily in FY2024. Our ongoing commitment to scientific research, education, and community engagement keeps us focused on one mission:
To contribute to the health and happiness of people around the world through pursuit of excellence in life science in general and our research and experience in microorganisms in particular.
Introducing a Commemorative 90th Anniversary Logo
To mark this milestone, we’re excited to share a limited-time addition to our packaging – a 90th Anniversary Logo, now featured on Yakult Original and Yakult LIGHT across Australia and New Zealand.
The infinity symbol represents our belief in unlimited possibilities and our commitment to unlimited evolution, determination, growth and innovation as a healthcare company. The ‘90’ encompassing the globe is a visual expression of the gratitude we have both for our customers and the Earth itself (its resources and environments) as expressed verbally in our corporate slogan. “In order for people to be healthy, everything around them must also be healthy.” It also expresses our commitment to continue contributing to health on a global scale.
While our iconic bottle design remains the same, this special emblem celebrates Yakult’s remarkable journey, from its humble beginning in Japan to becoming a daily favourite, appreciated for its delicious taste and digestive health benefits.
