| Yakult and Essendon Yakult is the proud sponsor of the Essendon Football Club (aka The BOMBERS) for the 2005-2008 seasons. Yakult and Essendon’s partnership continues as Yakult sign on as Essendon’s official ball sponsor for another two years - taking the Bombers though to the end of their 2008 football season. You may have noticed Yakult’s distinctive logo on the footy at Essendon’s home games as well as featuring on the ground signage and our advertisement on the big screen at half time. There is also the Yakult sponsored Grand Final competition in the footy record each year. This partnership originally started in 2004 after Essendon took 10 of its senior players on an end-of-season leadership tour to Japan. Part of the trip included a visit to Yakult’s head office in Tokyo which cemented a firm friendship between Yakult and the Bombers based on shared values of respect for self-discipline and hard work. |

| What Essendon didn't realise is Yakult's love of sport - in Japan, Yakult owns its own baseball team, an athletics club and a rugby team. Although from different countries and cultures, both Essendon and Yakult have a similar passion for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and believe a balanced digestive system is the key to optimal health because 70% of our immune system is located in the digestive tract. Regular Yakult drinkers include Essendon team-mates Adam McPhee, Adam Ramanauskas, Andrew Welsh, Mark McVeigh and fitness coach John Quinn, who start their day with a bottle of Yakult. So the one thing Essendon doesn't have to worry about is internal balance - they know Yakult will be doing its job long after the final siren.
